Advent is a season of awakening. While we often wake up to a knowledge that the world is often filled with conflict, injustice, and anxiety, we long for a deeper, more lasting peace than the world can offer. Isaiah offers us a divine promise guaranteed by Jesus's first coming. As we wait for his return, let us awaken to the peace he offers and actively live as people of the Kingdom, working toward the day when the whole earth is filled with the knowledge of the Lord and no one hurts or destroys.
