Isaiah invites us to imagine a world where God transforms weapons into tools for building—where what once harmed now helps life grow. Psalm 122 echoes that hope with a longing for deep, grounded peace. Advent begins by asking us to notice the “weapons” we carry: sharp words, hardened assumptions, fear, defensiveness, hurriedness. And it invites us to place them in God’s hands so they can be reshaped into tools for building—patience instead of anger, compassion instead of suspicion, courage instead of fear. This first week of Advent calls us to awaken to hope by letting God transform what breaks into what builds.
