Orange UMC has a rich tradition of worship and music. Our Music Ministries are filled with opportunities for every skill level. If you are interested in any of the music ministries, contact Derek Breshears or Josh Abraham in our Music Ministries Department. We look forward to worshiping with you!
Our Chancel Choir sings at the 11:00 Traditional service in the Sanctuary each Sunday. They also provide special music at Christmas and Easter.
Practice is on Wednesday evenings, from 6:45-8:00, in the choir room (downstairs, next to the ladies’ restroom). All voices are needed and welcome, and you don’t need to know how to read music to be able to sing to the Lord with this group. Contact Derek for more info.
Pathways Praise Band
The Pathways Praise Band leads contemporary worship in the Fellowship Hall Sunday mornings at 9:00am. The band is comprised of various instrumentalists including guitarists, other string instrumentalists, horns, drummers, and vocalists. They lead a lively mix of old and new songs.
Practice is Thursday evenings at 7:00-8:30 in the Fellowship Hall, with warm-up at 7:45am Sunday mornings. Contact Josh for more info.
The Orange Pealers are our handbell choir. They play at the 11:00 service four times a year. Practice is in the Sanctuary Wednesday evenings from 6:00-6:45pm. It is not necessary to be able to read music; the notes you play are color-coordinated so, if you know your right hand from your left, you will be able to join this group.
The Audio/Visual team are the unsung heroes of the Pathways Contemporary service at 9:00am. They run the slides and soundboard, and they are essential to the worship service. Training is required, but anyone with interest and basic tech skills can learn in a week or two. It’s also a lot of fun once you get into it!
