2025 Maddry Scholarship Winners
Hannah Drecktrah and Lindsay White, two outstanding student-athletes from East Chapel Hill High School have been named recipients of the 2025 Coy Maddry Memorial Scholarship Award from Orange United Methodist Church.
The scholarship candidates must be varsity athletic letter winners at a Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools high school who best exemplify Coy's life through qualities he demonstrated: hard work and dedication, strong academics, and exemplary character and leadership as reflected in church, school and civic activities. The scholarship is given on an annual basis from the scholarship fund. Memorials may still made to the Orange UMC/Coy Maddry Scholarship Fund.
Drecktrah earned varsity letters in four sports during her high school career, the last two at East Chapel Hill. She is a great student and active in her faith community at Grace Church in Chapel Hill. She has been accepted into the honors program at Florida State University.
White lettered all four years in two sports at East Chapel Hill High School. She has an impressive academic performance and involvement in extracurricular activities. She is an active member of the Church of the Reconciliation in Chapel Hill. She will be attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill this fall.
