Music

Orange UMC has a rich tradition of worship and music. Our Music Ministries are filled with opportunities for every skill level. If you are interested in any of the music ministries, contact Corey Ward in our Music Ministries Department. We look forward to worshiping with you!

Chancel Choir

Our Chancel Choir sings at the 11:00 Traditional service in the Sanctuary each Sunday.  They also provide special music at Christmas and Easter.

Choir practice is on Wednesday evenings from 6:45-8:00 in the choir room (downstairs, next to the ladies’ restroom).  All voices are needed and welcome, and you don’t need to know how to read music to be able to sing to the Lord with this group. Contact the church office for more info.

Pathways Praise Band

The Pathways Praise Band leads contemporary worship in the Fellowship Hall Sunday mornings at 9:00am.  The band is comprised of various instrumentalists including guitarists, other string instrumentalists, horns, drummers, and vocalists. They lead a lively mix of old and new songs.

The Praise Band practices Thursday evenings at 7:00-8:30 in the Fellowship Hall. They meet to warm-up at 7:45am Sunday mornings. Contact Corey for more info.

Orange Pealers

The Orange Pealers handbell choir welcomes everyone, age 11 and older, to join. If you can count to 4 and know your right hand from your left, you can play handbells, no need to read music as everything is color-coded. The Orange Pealers practice on Sunday afternoons from 4:00 to 4:45 in the Sanctuary. The group plays for worship services four to six times each year. Contact the church office for more info.

A/V Team

The Audio/Visual team are the unsung heroes of the Pathways Contemporary service at 9:00am. They run the slides and soundboard, and they are essential to the worship service. Training is required, but anyone with interest and basic tech skills can learn in a week or two. It’s also a lot of fun once you get into it! Contact Ryan for more info.
