The season of Christmas begins on December 25th and goes until the festival of Epiphany, January 6th. The 12 days in between are the true "12 Days of Christmas." Epiphany, which we will celebrate this Sunday, remembers the arrival of the Magi (also known as the Wisemen). These men from afar come to see Jesus; they follow the light to discover the salvation of the world. They wander; they get lost. They, however, never lose hope. In their faithful searching, they discover the one who comes to bring salvation to all people. His power and his purpose are so great, everything changes for these men. In response to their encounter with the Prince of Peace, they are forced to travel a new way.
