Wednesday Intercessory Prayer Group
This group meets at 11am in the New Hut during the school year. Six to eight people meet each Wednesday to pray for our church staff and activities, joys and concerns shared during the Sunday services, additional requests called into the church office, “Orange family members” listed on a page of the church phone directory, and other needs of which members are aware. Come be a part of this vital ministry. Contact Jean Barr.
Prayer Shawl Ministry (K1,P2)
The Prayers Shawl Ministry (Knit One, Pray Too) is a ministry of Love and care for people who are going through crisis in their lives (health, divorce, death, etc.) Shawls are knitted or crocheted by loving hands with lots of prayer as they are created. The shawls are put on the altar and prayed over, then placed in a bag with a note of encouragement.
There are also baby blankets that this ministry creates for newborns in our congregation or babies born in crisis in/out of the church. These are placed in a bag with a note to the parents.
The bagged shawls and baby blankets are kept in the office. If a need arises, please contact the church office or Virginia Andrews (919)929-3452) to receive one.
K1,P2 meets the second Tuesday of the month in the Parlor from September through May to fellowship and work on the project they have started at the time. If you are willing to help with this ministry, please contact the church office. Give them your name, phone number and email address and you will be contacted by Virginia Andrews.
You can also support this ministry by giving monetary gifts to the Prayer Shawl Fund in memory or honor of someone or just as a gift. These funds are then used to purchase yarn and bags for the shawls and blankets.
